git config global username Code Answer’s
This is a global username for all of your Git repositories. This is useful for organizations that are using several different Git repositories across a network. This can be used to create a single username that is used for all of your repositories. This will allow you to use the same ssh keys and passphrases across all of your repositories. To set this up:1. Open your shell or terminal window and type "git config --global username". You should see something like this.
git user.name user.email
git config --global user.name "Your Name"
git config --global user.email "[email protected]"
Source: linuxize.com
git config username
$ git config --global user.name "John Doe"
$ git config --global user.email [email protected]
Source: git-scm.com
git user email
git config --global user.name "John Smith"
git config --global user.email "[email protected]"
git user config
$ git config --local user.name "John Doe"
$ git config --local user.email [email protected]
git config global username
git config --global user.name "John Doe"
git config --global user.email [email protected]
The username is a user name that you can use to log in to your GitHub account. The username will not be displayed while browsing your repositories, but it will be shown on the "Log in" link in your profile. If you want to change your username, go to Settings > Personal Information > Your Profile and click on "Edit".
